The LFS - Low Force Stereolithography - FORMLABS FORM 3+ 3D printer is able to print layer by layer with a pinpoint accuracy due to the thinness of the layer.
Its ability to print medium to large size objects and its automated process make it the perfect choice for the innovations that the Museo Egizio wants to bring in to the institution.
The pinpoint accuracy of the reproduction of the original artefact through 3D printing will allow experts to deepen the research on the collection.
The 3D printer can offer new opportunities for rebuilding objects that no longer exist. For example, it will be possible to reproduce an artefact from its matrix, captured by a 3D scanner, from which a printable digital positive can be created.
In addiction, it will be possible to enhance the display of artefacts that do not currently have a suitable support, by designing and printing tailor-made supports to exhibit them.
The campaign aims to raise €5,000.
The amount raised will cover the purchase of the Form 3+ printer with the complete wholesale package, resin-cartridges for printing, and a training course package provided by 3DiTALY, which is a Formlabs' certified distributor, from whom the Museo Egizio will buy the 3D printer.
You can take part in this campaign and donate until March 23rd, 2024.
If the goal cannot be reached by March 23rd, the Museo Egizio's Development and Fundraising Office will work on finding the funds to complete the purchase of the printer.
